Local independent retailers are of vital importance to the Forest of Dean because keeping trade within our area is fundamental to ensure our towns thrive. We’re looking for a business that actively promotes the Forest of Dean & Wye Valley

pub of the year

The judges will be looking for a pub that provides a safe, comfortable and friendly atmosphere where customers can relax and enjoy a quality beverage. Maybe you sell locally produced beers & ales or perhaps hold evenings to encourage a community feel?

Restaurant of the Year

This award will go to the Restaurant which makes best use of local produce, ingredients and expertise whilst providing an excellent service to its customers.

health & beauty award

This category will cover businesses from local gyms and beauty salons to health providers such as chiropractors and acupuncturists. If your business is about health and wellbeing then this is the category for you!  

tourism award

The Tourism trade is one we must treasure. Encouraging visitors into the Forest of Dean is essential, so whether you’re a tourist attraction, B&B or local event organiser then we would like to hear from you.

customer service award

No business can succeed without offering great customer service. This category is open to all types of business and the winner of this will be someone who goes above and beyond for their customers.

producer of the year

The Forest and Wye Valley have an abundance of businesses who pride themselves in supplying others with their local produce. This award will go to the business who offers quality and consistency.

eco business of the year

In this day and age being green goes a very long way and everyone needs to look at sustainability. Does your business do it’s part? Tell us how you’re making that important difference.

new business of the year

(established after February 2019)

Have you started a business ? Maybe you’ve gone from a hobby at home to a full time business? Or opened a new shop and grown month on month? Let’s get the word out there!

tradesperson of the year

Are you, or do you know an outstanding tradesperson? Whether you’re a local builder, electrician, plumber etc the Tradesperson of the Year award will celebrate the individual who demonstrates outstanding work and professionalism in their field.

apprentice of the year

Helping the youth of today is of great importance and offering an apprenticeship opportunity can model someones life for years to come. Have you got an apprentice who you think deserves some recognition?

family run business of the year

Do you own a family run businesses or maybe work within one? We have many in the area and whether it’s a husband & wife team or whole generations this may be the award for you.

employee of the year

To run a successful business you need good staff! Do you have an employee that makes a real difference to your business? If you’d like to recognise that special employee then was better way than to nominate them for an award?

One of our most popular categories! The Small Business category will be defined as a business with an annual turnover below £1m and is open to any type of business from a local tradesperson to a larger company.

young business person of the year

The Young Business Person category will be awarded to someone aged 35 or less who can demonstrate how they have grown in their business or career.

Open to all Business owners this category will be awarded to the person who exceeds in their business and inspires others.

Our main category of the evening; the Business of the Year award will go to a business which has excelled over the past 12 months and has become a great attribute to the Forest of Dean.
